Acoustica was commissioned to undertake the acoustical responsibility of controlling the noise emissions from a set of large store condenser plants. The site constraints meant that the only position that was available for the plant was an area of the superstore that was just meters from an adjacent residential neighbour’s boundary.

Working alongside the local environmental planning authority, and the clients retained acoustic consultants, Acoustica proposed a bespoke double banked acoustic louvered screen that incorporated a 1.5 metre wide inclined acoustic panel-work system at the top. This design provided an improved acoustic shadow in the area of concern.

Once prediction calculations had been made and were approved by the clients and the main contractor, Acoustica engineers designed, manufactured, and installed the 24 Metre long panel from powder coated pre-galvanised G275 mild steel.

Our project management team worked ‘hand in hand’ with the facilities management contractor, and interfaced with the refrigeration contractors to ensure that the supply and installation of the system met the critical store opening date. The time implications of a superstore opening date cannot be underestimated.
